Milan will become a shareholder
According to the Financial Times, the 37-year-old player will be among the shareholders of the club, with the official sale of Italian giant Milan to RedBird in the coming days.
The Street Yankees and Main Street Advisors, which have invested in names such as LeBron James and Drake, will join Cardinale in the acquisition of Milan.
RedBird confirmed in June that it had reached a $1.2 billion deal to acquire Milan. It’s unclear how much of the club the Yankees and Main Street will own.
Fourth owner of Milan in five years
The Yankees will work closely with RedBird managing partner Gerry Cardinale to increase revenues and on-court success for Milan, who has won their first Serie A title in 11 years.
RedBird is poised to become the fourth owner of Milan in five years.
Elliott has owned Milan since 2018, following the sale of the club’s former Chinese owner. Former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi ruled the red-and-blacks for more than 30 years before selling to the Chinese group in 2017.
