Breaking news: Russian state leader Vladimir Putin officially approved the annexation decision of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and Kherson, which he announced last week. Putin signed the laws on the annexation of Ukraine’s Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions by Russia.
RUSSIAN CITIZEN WILL BE ACCEPTED
In a statement made by the Kremlin Palace, it was stated that Putin signed the laws on the connection of Ukraine’s Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions to Russia. According to the laws in question, those living in these areas will be considered Russian citizens.
PRESIDENT AND GOVERNOR APPOINTED
In addition, with the decrees he signed, Putin appointed a temporary president and governor to the regions. Accordingly, Denis Pushilin, the interim president of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic, Leonid Pasechnik, the so-called interim president of the Luhansk People’s Republic, Vladimir Saldo, the interim governor of the Kherson region, and Evgeniy Balitsky, the interim governor of the Zaporozhye region.
APPROVAL FROM PARLIAMENT
The lower house of the Russian parliament, the Duma, adopted the laws on the annexation of 4 regions by Russia on 3 October. The upper house of the parliament, the Federation Council, also approved the laws yesterday.
