Iranian Revolutionary Guards target Kurdish parties in KRG

WALL – The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Army announced the launch of an air strike against the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (IKRG). In the statement made on the Telegram channel of the Revolutionary Guards, it was stated that the bases belonging to the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) were targeted. Rudawreported that the bases and headquarters of the Kurdish parties in the Koye district of Erbil and the Qaladize district of Sulaymaniyah were hit.

The semi-official Mehr news agency also announced that an attack was carried out against Komala with the Iranian Kurdistan Democratic Party (HDK-I). The Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards, stated that the attacks were a “response” to the KRG, which supported the protests that started after the murder of Mahsa (Jina) Amini in Iran by the morality police. “The attacks were organized in response to separatists’ support for the ongoing unrest in Iran,” the report said. The Revolutionary Guards accused Kurdish parties of “fostering chaos and turmoil” in the protests following Amini’s death.

Speaking to Rûdaw, the leader of the Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK), Hüseyin Yezdanpena, said, “We have martyrs and wounded people.” Koye Martyr Dr. Khalid Hospital Director Dr. Kawa Patience, on the other hand, said that 15 injured people have been taken to the hospital so far, and 2 people lost their lives in the bombardment.
