Inter-leader talks begin at Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit

The summit to be held between September 15 and 16 was attended by the heads of states of Russia, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan, observer members of the organization, Belarus, Mongolia and Iran, as well as President of Uzbekistan Mirziyoyev, President of Turkey, Erdogan and Turkmenistan. PUTIN MEETS LEADERS

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadir Japarov as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.

According to the Kremlin statement, Putin, in his speech at the beginning of his meeting with the Chief, stated that relations between Russia and Iran are developing in all directions. Pointing out that they are doing everything to ensure that Iran becomes a full member of the SCO, Putin noted that other partners also support Iran’s application.

“The last formality remains, in fact, it is just a formality, and Iran is already joining this serious, large and authoritative international organization. We are very happy with that.” he said.

Expressing that the intergovernmental commission is working actively, Putin said that they will send a Russian delegation consisting of business circles to Iran next week, and that approximately 80 Russian company representatives will attend.

Before the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, Putin also met with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

In his speech at the beginning of his meeting with Xi, Putin noted that the trade volume between Russia and China will soon reach $200 billion. Emphasizing that they are pleased with China’s approach to Ukraine, Putin said, “We highly value the balanced approach of our Chinese friends to the Ukraine crisis. We understand your questions and concerns on this matter, and we will convey our approach to the issue in detail in today’s meeting.” said.

On Taiwan issue, Putin criticized the USA and said, “We are firmly committed to the one-China principle. We condemn the provocations of the USA and its satellites in the Taiwan Strait.” used the phrases.

Putin added that attempts to create a unipolar world are unacceptable for many countries in the world.

MEETING PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN ALIYEV

President Erdoğan met with Azerbaijani President Aliyev as part of his bilateral contacts in Samarkand, where he came to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.

The meeting between Erdogan and Aliyev was closed to the press.

During the meeting, bilateral relations as well as the recent conflicts between Azerbaijan and Armenia were discussed.

ERDOĞAN WILL ATTEND THE SUMMIT SESSION

President Erdoğan is expected to address the Summit Session and hold bilateral meetings tomorrow.

In addition, President Erdoğan is scheduled to depart for the United States of America to attend the 77th General Assembly of the United Nations, which will be held in New York after the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.
