In TKK markets, the prices of the products whose prices have decreased with orders have been increased again.

The last solution of the economy management, which continued to produce daily solutions while the citizens were crushed under heavy inflation, did not work either. In the beginning of August, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced a new campaign, saying that many products will be sold at a discount in the Agricultural Credit Cooperative markets (TKK) to combat inflation and that these will be reflected in the shelf prices of other markets. On August 15, when the discount campaign started, the citizens, who formed heavy queues in front of the Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, were disappointed, but there was no visible discount on the products.

HIGH OPPORTUNITY

It has not been a month since the discount campaign, but many products such as oil, napkins, pasta, flour, which Erdogan said would be sold at a discount that day, were again increased. 5 kg of flour, which was sold for 52 liras on August 14, was launched as if it had dropped from 58 liras to 52 liras on the day the discount started. In the three weeks that have passed, the same product is being sold for 58 liras and 90 cents today. Similarly, 1 liter of olive oil, which was sold for 54.90 liras on 15 August, started to be sold for 58.90 liras in the three weeks that passed.

In addition, the 16-ply toilet paper, which was sold for 49.90 liras on the day that was said to be a discount, is now sold for 57.90 liras with a 23 percent increase. On the other hand, 1 liter of sunflower oil, which was sold for 33.50 liras on August 15, is today with an 11 percent increase and with the “Opportunity” label, 37.30 liras, and pasta, which is sold for 4.5 liras, is sold for 5.15 liras with a 14 percent increase.

STOCKS MOLD

Stating that these hikes by the Agricultural Credit Cooperatives have proven that the increases in food prices will not stop without reducing basic costs, the President of the Consumer Associations Federation Aziz Koçal said, “It means that there was a cheap stock in the warehouse and these stocks were melted to encourage other markets. Since we do not have a basic food policy, there are temporary discounts with such policies to save the day, but in the end, the hikes continue. Because you just made a hike in electricity and natural gas. How much tax do you get from fuel? How will the farmer produce cheaply, how will the market sell it cheaply? said.

Recalling that many citizens shared non-discounted prices on August 15, Koçal said, “Income is low and expenses are increasing day by day, so the consumer is looking for cheap products like an inspector. He sees these games very closely,” he said. Koçali said that the costs of the products should also be written on the market shelves.
