EU to announce energy measures today

Oil, gas and refinery companies will be required to give 33 percent of the taxable surplus of their profits in 2022 to the government as a solidarity contribution.

It will be set as a mandatory target for EU member states to cut their electricity consumption by 5 percent during peak hours.
