Claim from Taliban that will increase tension: Pakistani airspace was used

Deputy Defense Minister of the Taliban interim government, Mullah Mohammed Yaqub Mujahid, claimed that the airstrike in which the leader of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, Ayman ez-Zawahiri, was killed, was carried out using Pakistani airspace.

Speaking at the press conference he held in the capital Kabul, Mujahid made a statement regarding the attack in which Zawahiri was killed.

Stating that the US violated Afghanistan’s sovereignty with the said airstrike, Mujahid said, “According to the information we have, they (UAVs) entered Afghanistan through Pakistan and used Pakistan’s airspace. We ask Pakistan not to use its airspace against us. ” he said.

Earlier, Taliban Spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid stated in his statement that US drones fly over Afghanistan from time to time.

– REACTION FROM PAKISTAN TO THE TALIBAN

In the statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, it was emphasized that it was deeply concerned about Mujahideen’s statements.

In the statement, it was noted that such hypothetical claims without any evidence are extremely regrettable and contrary to the norms of responsible diplomatic behavior.

Pointing out that Pakistan condemns all forms and manifestations of terrorism, the statement called on the interim administration to fulfill international commitments not to allow Afghanistan’s territory to be used for terrorist purposes against any country.

The leader of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, Ayman ez-Zawahiri, was killed in an attack with a US drone (UAV) on July 31 in the Afghan capital, Kabul.
