In the democratic politics of Europe, the policies are so unsafe that they break the society. These policies, which are especially based on the refugee card, seem to soften their harshness with popular feminine faces. Behind the feminization of leaders, from Le Pen to Liz Truss, and now to Meloni, there is also some harshness of politics. The symbol name of the Italian elections was Meloni, although it was not the only power for me. It hasn’t been a month since England met me with Liz Truss. It wasn’t long before Le Pen gave Macron nightmares in the French elections in the spring. While nationality in England means the separation of the island from Europe, nationality in Central Europe means leaning on Russia. In Germany, on the other hand, since the national socialist ship did not leave a door open to any type of nationalism, the right party there could only use the neutral and meaningless “alternative” name. It’s like he’s saying “you know” to his fans.
Although the Italian elections were not the only power for me, the symbol name was Meloni. It hasn’t been a month yet, since England’s been to me with Liz Truss. Nor has it been a long time since Le Pen had nightmares for Macron in the French elections in the spring. The European Athenas, which started with Le Pen in the spring, reached the summit with Liz Truss and Meloni in the fall. The elections in Italy were won in a political environment where the arrow of the Swedish elections has not yet survived. In fact, can we say that European politics surrender to the Athenas, if we count Ayuso, who won the elections in Madrid, Spain’s new sabel who was overlooked in the spring, who saved Macron’s French elections?
Nationality poplist vein
Of course we can’t. At least there is not enough data for such an analysis, but ironically we are not empty handed. If we use the Asena/Athena irony, which is remembered from Cem Ylmaz’s lisp ads, for the poplist vein of the rising nationality in European politics, we will be drawing attention even if we cannot bring clarity to the subject. Its nationality is poplist or, as some say, neophaism is no longer a political conjuncture but a structural problem of poor European politics.
Two factors that triggered the forward policies in Europe stand out in the region of vision; First of all, the ongoing economic problems in Europe are eroding the comfort of the people and creating backward effects from welfare policies. The latter has to share the shrinking cake with the refugees. On the other hand, the ongoing fight in the front ranks of this fundamentally economic problem is cultural. The cultural fights that continued in the form of the discomfort felt about the lifestyle of the immigrants, especially the global elite hostility that emerged in France with the Yellow Vests and the Islamophobia that spread throughout Europe, are the indicators of the superiority of the ice.
standardization of the exception
The reasons that make land politics structural is the routine of exceptional situations in the world. While the crises that have been common since the 2008 economic crisis have reached their peak with the pandemic, we almost heard the footsteps of the third world war with the Russia-Ukraine war. In the neoliberal era, democratic politics fed by the areas of freedom created by the market and the areas of support encouraged by civil society are now being replaced by more authoritarian politics. The exemplary democratic countries of Europe are also affected by this structural transformation, although there is no authoritarianism yet, the tendency for nationalization is increasing. It is not in vain that Meloni uses the slogan “Great Italy” for the country of the richest of the poor and the poorest of the rich.
The trend of increasing nationalization in European politics is not yet reached, even if it pushes the democratic boundaries. In fact, as the names of the parties in Austria and the Netherlands from the right parties show, they want to feed themselves from democratic politics, as evidenced by the concept of “liberty”. Most recently, the land in Sweden introduced itself as “Swedish Democrats”, also referring to the intermediary use of democracy. In the mind worlds of such parties, freedom means tolerance for their own weight. They do not want a free and democratic world, but a political environment where their opinions are freely expressed.
The second common partner used in the names of the land parties is the people. These kinds of parties, which are based on friendship definitions based on the distinction between those who are with us and those who are not, actually point to enemies and borders. In France, Le Pen’s party taking the name of the National Front marks enemies over its borders, while Meloni’s Brothers of Italy party cries out as Italians in solidarity. The fact that the land party in Spain was named the People’s Party is representative of a similar trend. If we take a closer look at the rear movements, we will see that one of the interesting commonalities is that they close the moment well as the leader in European politics. If we do not count Macron, the last stronghold of the globalists, who proved that he could not carry European politics after Merkel with numerous and ineffective visits to Russia, there is a serious problem of political leadership. Although there is no problem of political leadership in the UK, the poplisation of weaknesses in masks, such as the protection of ministers who were watered by harassment, or the party organization in the presidential office without complying with the covid measures, had taken him out of his seat. The fact that Athena filled her place with a nationality and security like Liz Truss was partly related to this kind of masks.
The memory nationality of feminism’s proposition of a more feminine, indirect and gentle politics, instead of a power-oriented, harsh and domineering male-dominated world, makes it clear to the democrats when the poplist leaders are women. This tendency is actually another indicator of the fact that the political preferences of the people are rational, but it also contains a leader-oriented emotionality.
The politicization of the private constitutes the current peak of feminist politics. In other words, it is the woman’s giving up on a woman-specific area and making her own privately public. The political aim here is the subordination of women. However, talking about women’s secondaryness creates a politics of subordination by itself. Combined with the subordination and vulnerability of the minorities in their own democratic societies and the political discrimination of women, a strong political profile emerges in terms of the preferences of the people. One of the reasons why political parties mix up with hot women in their leadership or in their political showcases is the capture of this emotional and poplist vein in the preferences of the people.
Another common feature of racist parties is their political confusion. After all, this opposition is also understandable, since they are reactionary parties, not policymakers. On the one hand, those who have a global elite card, on the other hand, can carry out policies that include global economic policies and peace tax reductions. Remembering the economic policies of Berlusconi or Trump is enough to describe what we are talking about.
When we look at the plots, it is one of the main goals to protect the European civilization, especially the culture unique to their own country. In this sense, it is naive to expect that the European claim, which is based on a universalist and democratic value system, should not be confused with the refugees and the Muslim card. As a matter of fact, it is clear that they see universality not as worldly or internationally, but as a burden to be European. It has been more than twenty years since he gave up a peaceful occult life with different lifestyles in his own countries. What Meloni says, criticizing French colonialism, is that it is France, whose refugees have troubled me with Italy. In fact, it is the refugee card, not colonialism. He thinks that refugees have condemned Italian democracy to its security policies. He wants Italy back, once the southern paradise of Central and Northern Europeans. When we say refugees, let’s add that there is no opposition to those who come from the south, not those who come from the north.
One of the sources feeding the land has been the withdrawal of democratic parties from policies that appeal to broad social classes. For example, social democrats were pulled back in the nineties by negotiating neoliberalism from protecting the profits of the broad working class. What is left to left politics is the identity policies of narrow social groups, especially LGBT. Land politics has embraced the left’s defense of welfare and sharpened it with LGBT hostility. With the left’s exclusion and even contempt for popism, the right has been able to add marginal social class hostility to the victims of the global crises it embraces. When abortion and LGBT card coexisted, both for better and cheaper provision of public services and for the protection of the family, poplist policies hated by the left were reflected on the opposite side.
The power of the right center to change policies is even greater than the power to exclude left policies. Center-right policies ranging from Thatcher to Truss are easier to follow. It was enough for Thatcher, as she ascended to power in 79, to use the phrase sensibility for her own nationality. Conservatives had realized the dreams of British royalty, which adopted the motto of independence and by that meant England, which was independent of EU politics. Although she was against Brexit in the beginning, it is seen that the change in the statements of Liz Truss, who was a staunch advocate after it happened, is related to her ability to get behind the poplist wave. As a matter of fact, Liz Truss, as the son of a leftist family who gradually shifted to the right due to politics, can be the stronghold of British nationality while working with the global powers.
Although each of the policies of increasing nationality, from Sweden to Italy, from England to Poland, have common aspects, there are also different aspects. For example, because the most important enemy in Poland is Russia, they have established their independence on anti-Russian policies to supply gas. However, the right-wing politics in Hungary is anti-EU and pro-Russian. In this sense, since their main concern is themselves and their great countries, they produce politics that focuses on their interests, not the democratic priorities of the international community. On the other hand, height sensitivities vary from culture to culture, sometimes even in the same cultural world. For example, in the Netherlands, Sweden and Austria, where democratic politics are strong, what does the concept of freedom mean, in southern European countries the people’s resilience and boundaries are what it is. While there is no brotherhood/resilience in the whole of Italy, the Five Star Movement can develop as a distant nationality with the global system and supported by the educated in the rich north. While nationality in England means the separation of the island from Europe, nationality in Central Europe means leaning on Russia. In Germany, on the other hand, since the national socialist ship did not leave any kind of nationality open, the right party there could only use the neutral and meaningless “alternative” name. It’s like he’s saying “you know” to his fans.
It seems that as the crises continue in the world, politics will rely more on the state and authority. In every country, as we testify in the pandemic, poplist policies will carry out the nationality that focuses on short-term profits, not the international system it feeds on. In a way, he will be the captain who can float his ship in a storm. Such policies will also be security policies that sacrifice freedoms. The soft faces of the antidemocratic and foreignist harsh policies will also be the new Athenas of politics.
