Aleyna Tilki, whose concert was canceled because she reacted to the LGBTI+ rally: We are back in the witch hunt period

Singer Aleyna Tilki, whose concert was canceled because she reacted to the anti-LGBTI+ rally, shared on her social media account, “The marching sounds of a mindset that risk discrimination is not something I can ignore. We are back in the era of witch hunts. But I have special powers, I won’t die if you burn them” said.

Aleyna Tilki used the following statements in her post about the cancellation of her concert by the MHP Osmancık Municipality, as she reacted to the anti-LGBTI+ march:

“The marching voices of a discriminatory mindset are not something I can ignore.

Especially when the subject is so-called ‘morality’ and we have never walked for the psychological and physical abuses that most of us experience…

We are back in the era of the witch hunt. But I have special powers, even if you burn me, I will not die.”

In a written statement made yesterday by the Osmancık Municipality, where the MHP is in charge, in Çorum, the concert that Aleyna Tilki will give on Saturday, September 24, in the district as part of the 2022 Diamond Rice Culture and Art Festival, is aimed at the anti-LGBTI plus anti-LGBT action in Istanbul today. It was announced that it was canceled due to the reaction. In the statement of Osmancık Municipality, the following was recorded:

The Culture and Art Festival is held between 16-25 September 2022 with cultural and artistic events, sports activities, local events, fairs and national concerts.

Within the scope of the festival, two separate concerts, ‘public concert’ and ‘youth concert’, were planned. Singer Aleyna Tilki was invited to the youth concert with the suggestion of our young people.

Our district is a city of history and culture that has hosted ancient civilizations. The people of Osmancık place great value on art and artists. However, the statements made by singer Aleyna Tilki in her interviews and on social media on 17.09.2022, which are incompatible with our culture, were met with sadness in the eyes of our people. The concert, which was planned to be held on Saturday, September 24, has been canceled as of today. It is announced to the public with respect.”
