7.5 million Euros of steel vest confiscation from Ukraine to a Turkish company – Actual

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine did not comply with the contract, although the Turkish company agreed with 16 million Euros to buy 30 thousand steel vests.

The decision was made in the lawsuit filed by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which could not afford either the steel vests or 16 million Euros, to the Istanbul Anatolian Commercial Court of First Instance.

In the decision hearing, the court decided to place a precautionary lien on the movable, immovable and bank accounts of 7.5 million Euros, i.e. 115 million 500 thousand TL, of the steel vest supplier, which is an agriculture and livestock company.

In the letter sent to private and state banks in Turkey, it was stated that all accounts were foreclosed.

The lawyers of the company, which the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense sued, also claimed at the hearing that they made an agreement with other companies for the supply of steel vests. He said that they made an agreement with a company in Bahrain to supply the steel vests and they sent 580,000 dollars in return for this agreement. Lawyers, who also said that a process has been initiated to pay 7.5 million Euros to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, requested that the company not be foreclosed.

UKRAINE TAKES ACTION FOR CRIMINAL CASE

Candaş Gürol, lawyer of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, stated that the legal process continues and said, “It is clear in our opinion that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has been seriously victimized. We implemented the foreclosure decision given by the court and filed a complaint for a criminal case to be filed,” he said.

In the investigation opened by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, Turkish company officials were summoned to testify.
