In the referendum held last week for the region to be connected to Russia, 93.11 percent of the participants said ‘yes’. Russian President Vladimir Putin also recognized the independence of Zaporozhye with a decree he signed last night. The agreement, which includes the connection of the said region to Russia, is expected to be signed at a ceremony to be held in the Kremlin today.
